Siren

The siren that charms and warns, a sculpture that signals worry, and yet is cute at the same time. A device that makes warning sounds, or a mythological being that lures sailors down into the depths of the sea with its beautiful song? As an artist, Tukiainen works with the escape from reality, the ‘flow’ that working in the studio can entail, while at the same time she relates to the present and the daily news. Tukiainen plays with words and uses humour in her artistic practice, often letting strong pink girls take centre stage.
