In the lush and green Oskarsparken, twenty pavement signs bearing the numbers 1 and 0 spin. The artist Ben Long welcomes viewers to embark on a surprising encounter between the sign code that represents cyber reality and actual, tangible reality – the park with living trees, grass and other vegetation. The binary code – 1 and 0 – is the basic electronic representation of data used for programming in our computerized and digitalized world. The work raises questions about the co-existence of our analogue and digital lives and highlights the need for a conscious presence.
