Past Present Continous
Ieva Saulīte, installation

In the lush landscape of Strömpisön, a colourful form has appeared. A wooden structure stretches over the ground, like a comet or a shooting star, and points toward a flowerbed. Past Present Continuous has grown out of a collaboration with St. Nicholas Church’s Träffpunkt fellowship and knitting circles. Through conversations about childhood, gardening and personal experiences, the participants have contributed to the expression of this artwork. Each component bears traces of time: like stitches, layers and prints in a common fabric. The installation functions as a vibrant meeting place and opens up for a tactile presence in which the past, the present and that which is yet to come are held together.
