JareKoziara

Above a bicycle lane in the trees hang large letters from the Latin, Hebrew and Cyrillic alphabets. The letters are three-dimensional, white and with sewn-on rectangular textile pieces in blue, red and orange tones.

The characters shout out in the sky over a central bike path. Letters from three different alphabets emerge like rows of ornaments – the Latin, the Hebrew and the Cyrillic, which is used to write mostly in Slavic languages. Today’s multilingual – and multicultural – society is at the core of artist JareKoziara’s installation. "Three Alphabets" brings both recognition and the desire to join in the cross-border contact that gives new knowledge and understanding of that which is at first unfamiliar. Perhaps the dialogue of this summer’s Örebro begins already in wordless communication, in which we – without understanding each other’s languages – share cultural references such as music, dance, art and food.
