Reza Kianpour

At Olof Palmes Torg there is a large and long prize podium in the color white with the numbers 1, 2 and 3.

The winners’ podium at Olof Palme square is a full 24 metres wide. At first glance, it may look like a wall – something that blocks off and keeps out. Yet in fact, the work invites everyone to participate and is even accessible for people in wheelchairs or prams. Kianpour’s "Never Lose Again" literally confirms its title. In its design and bewildering re-numbering of the winners’ podium, it shakes up our worldviews and values. What counts as success? What is it we value most – and why? If the standards by which we measure are changed to encompass multiple dimensions, there is no answer to what it means to have a successful life.
