St. Kleinweh

On a lawn next to a street is a small wooden house placed on top of four wooden pillars. A staircase leads up to the house. The shape of the house is a hexagon. The door to which the stairs lead is open.

The wooden hut created by the Dutch artist duo St. Kleinweh houses an ever-growing sound archive. Visitors can sit down inside the artwork and listen to collected narratives about the concept of ‘home’. For a few days during the exhibition, the artists will also collect new stories for the archive. Through this installation, they want to examine how the safe feeling of home can be reconstructed and experienced in the middle of a hectic festival and together with strangers. What sounds do you associate with the feeling of home?

A picture from inside the building. A man sitting on a stool is seen in backlight. He reaches out to reach something on the wall. Electronics are installed on the walls and you can see a pair of headphones hanging. Inside the house there is a sound archive to listen to.
