Henrik Jonsson translates painting into sculpture. The paintings he works around are found in Western art history and in Jonsson's art they become three-dimensional objects, sculptures or installations. His art raises questions about what is to become art history and in what ways these paintings are relevant to us who live today. Jonsson is used to a variety of materials such as clay, plaster, wax, jesmonite and bronze and is also used to teaching sculptural techniques. Jonsson is educated at Umeå Academy of the Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and is today represented by GSA Gallery in Stockholm. Henrik Jonsson has exhibited at OpenArt 2017.
