India

DAKU, an anonymous Indian artist, emerged as one of the pioneers of graffiti art in India, introducing unique Devanagari graffiti to the streets of New Delhi around 2008. Transitioning from graffiti to subversion of traffic signs and guerrilla interventions across India, DAKU's artistic evolution has been marked by a relentless exploration of unconventional mediums. Fascinated by the concept of time, DAKU has embarked on a creative journey centred around the movement of the sun and shadows across geographic locations worldwide.

DAKU’s earliest foray into this theme was during the first Kochi Biennale in 2012, setting the stage for a prolific career spanning international exhibitions and public installations. Since then, DAKU's work has been featured at prominent art events such as the Macao Biennale, India Art and Architecture Biennale, SESC in São Paulo, Place Graslin in Nantes, France, Civita Street fest in Italy, Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, Navy Yard in Philadelphia, and Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas, St+art India Art Districts and Festivals among numerous others.

With each work, DAKU continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression, captivating audiences with his innovative exploration of time and space.
